At least there weren't any Longa Cats in Longa...

Recently, players were crashing the NA servers just to duplicate items and to upset everyone. And so I find myself back in the JP server...

...and made a new character on the Cichol server. This new character looks exactly like the character I made on Mari.

I'm actually thinking about developing this character instead of neglecting him, so off I go to do the newbie quests. One of the quests required me to complete Longa Dungeon. It seemed easy enough with all my other characters, so it shouldn't be too bad, right?

Wow, this dungeon is tough for a level 12 elf.

I had to revive twice, but the third time's the charm.

And now for something completely different:

Mabinogi FMA and Guild Running

Around two months ago, JP Mabi had character cards that turned people into Full Metal Alchemist characters. I had to check it out for myself.

So I start off by visiting Dunbarton.

I met a guild leader, well, I saw his videos and decided to stalk him. Cough, cough. Amazingly enough, they let me tag along with them.

Now I have all these chat drawings saved just from that one day.

Alts, Subs, and Mules

Sometimes it feels like there's just enough inventory space to carry items. Other times, I want to have a completely different look. However, both of these need money... or another account where both are free.

A new account in Mabinogi allows the first character to have premium looks for free. And of course, a new character has nothing, so inventory space is widely available.

The only problem is that a newbie is weak. I start missing my level +1000 main character really quick.

Still, I really like how my alt characters look.

A buddy's marriage.

Yesterday, I attended a friend's wedding. They planned it to be at the elven wedding place, but at least one has to be an elf in order to hold a wedding there.

Well, back to Emain...

Mabi JP Pet Event

Yesterday, JP Mabinogi introduced a pet dungeoning event. Prizes include mouse hats, rabbit ears, and rabbit suits. So what exactly is the event?

In order to do the event, a player must log onto a pet character and talk to the devCat mascot in Tir Chonaill. He will give a Ciar dungeon pass to complete, and the end reward is a chance to get an event item.

Well, here goes nothing...

It was just Ciar Beginner.... 

Then I met another cat and ran it again.

My dungeoning partner was really nice and gave me her prize.

...it looks quite terrible, to be honest. But I did meet another person and even ran a dungeon together, which was quite fun.

River Rafting and Electricity

Yes, that's basically what rafting is all about.

I died on purpose. Why? Well, dying warps me back to the starting point where I can redeem my reward.

This is probably the fastest way to gain exploration exp: 3180 exp for about 3 minutes. So, it'll only take 21 minutes to get to level 15, or I can grind for a little over 3 hours total to get to level 25, the maximum exploration level.

A new year; a new blog.

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted!

My old blog was hosted on the Guru website, but its forum has died due to advertisement spam. The old community has since abandoned that website.

Even after all these years, I'm still playing the same game, the same character, the same server. Ho hum.

For those who haven't played it, Mabinogi is an MMORPG developed by devCat and published by Nexon. It contains elements of a Japanese RPG with an interesting storyline loosely based on Celtic mythology.

The latest update introduces one of Shakespeare's plays and intertwines it with the plot. It's Hamlet, Mabinogi-style!
